Welcome to

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to St Andrew’s RC Primary School, Gorebridge

St Andrew’s RC Primary is situated in the locality of Gorebridge.  As a denominational, co-educational school our catchment area is wide-ranging.  We currently accommodate learners across 7 classes from P1-P7. We also have a nursery class, which can cater for the needs of 32 children – aged 3 and 4 years old, on a full-time basis.  Our school also has a Complex Needs Provision with space for 10 learners; ranging from P1-P7.

At St Andrew’s, we aim to provide a happy, healthy, safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment; promoting achievement for all and celebrating success. We are particularly proud of our school Core Values which reinforce the Gospel message to “treat others as you would like to be treated”. All staff work together to provide an education which is both enjoyable and challenging and which meets the needs of all of our learners.

At St Andrew’s we embed the attributes of a Midlothian Learner in our everyday practice to help the children develop skills for learning, life and work and to help them develop as successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.  We are committed to the holistic development of every learner and our values are underpinned by the principles of UNCRC.

As part of the St David's Learning Community and ASG, we work closely with the other Catholic Primary schools in Midlothian and enjoy close links with St David’s RC High School where our learners can transition to after Primary 7.

Our school benefits from a committed Parent Council and we regularly welcome parent, parish and community volunteers who help support in a wide variety of ways.

As you read through our web site, I hope you will appreciate our joint responsibility in achieving the above. I look forward to working in partnership with you and your family within the school community of St Andrew’s.

Kind regards

Joanne Hunter
